Doveva finire, ed è finita. Nella serata di ieri, la Ferrari e Alonso sono scese a patti. Il loro rapporto finirà al termine del Campionato 2014, in modo rapido e indolore. Niente avvocati, giudici o tribunali, e niente polemiche. Il contratto che doveva scadere alla fine del 2016, pena salatissime penali, è saltato. Le due parti si lasceranno, per usare un termine giuridico, in modo consensuale e di comune accordo. Quindi, da novembre, Fernando Alonso sarà liberissimo di riporre in naftalina gli abiti rossi e recarsi verso altri e, si spera per lui, fortunati lidi.
La Ferrari non ha rilasciato comunicati, così come Alonso continua a non confermare la sua dipartita da Maranello. Per l'annuncio ufficiale, probabilmente, dovremo aspettare Abu Dhabi, perchè comunicarlo adesso risulterebbe destabilizzante.
Ma qual'è il motivo che ha spinto i nuovi vertici del Cavallino ad affondare Fernando? Ieri Marchionne, da Parigi, aveva dichiarato che "La Ferrari viene prima di tutto.". Sostanzialmente, Alonso è troppo protagonista, finendo per appannare l'immagine della Ferrari stessa. Ma non è solo questo, è ovvio. Dietro a questa decisione c'è la volontà di ricostruire la squadra da zero. In questo senso sono già stati silurati Domenicali, Montezemolo, Marmorini. E ora, Fernando. Tra l'altro la "nuova" Ferrari, che si sta formando in questi mesi, ha un piano di sviluppo di 2-3 stagioni, come minimo. Questo significa che prima del 2016-17 o addirittura 2018 sarà difficile avere una monoposto che possa giocarsi ad armi pari con gli altri il Titolo. Alonso, classe 1981, non può aspettare tanto a lungo, ha bisogno subito di un team che possa consentirgli di vincere il suo terzo Campionato. Ma quale sarebbe questo team? Nelle prossime settimane dovrebbe arrivare l'annuncio ufficiale. Alonso, comunque, si impegna a lottare al massimo fino alla fine dell'anno in corso, per portare la Ferrari al terzo posto della classifica Costruttori davanti alla Williams.
